It's so true that as a child it just comes naturally, and then we grow up and we just forget to look around us and be amazed at what we see. It's a good reminder to be in the moment and experience the beauty, and be in awe 😊

Yes, let's keep the awe alive. Children do know a few secrets of the universe :)

Ohh I love the awe walk idea! The last time I felt awe was last week when I went on a hike and started at the hermit crabs crawling all over the beach. It was so cool!

"When I experience awe, my consciousness will be summoned into the moment, and I will experience everything in its heightened sense, and my contemplation of it will go into an overdrive. Then, there will be an overwhelming feeling coming from the center of my body, the feeling that I am not alone in this world, that I am small and the universe is large, and that somehow, even then, I don’t feel alone because we are all connected."

This is exactly how I feel when i am awed by nature. Overwhelmed by emotions and the feeling that we are just a speck in this wide universe but not nothing. Loved reading your post!

Thanks Epsita, glad you resonate with it. Awe is amazing , kind of like dipping consciously into the current of the universe.

Remember how easily we were awed when we were kids? In case we don't, just look around, and watch children fall into awe effortlessly.

Let's return to our child-like stage, and be awed by what's around us—nature, love, happiness, and sorrow ...

Oh yes! Children are the best at awe, we can surely learn from them and to remind us who we once were too. We should embrace our inner-child!

Rachel,

There isn't a lens big enough to see the universe of the human soul.

Rachel, I am so happy you decided to share this again! I always talk about awe and marveling and how during travel, we experience a lot of it. But in our daily lives, it can get lost so easily. A couple of years ago, when I was trying to figure out what would truly make me happy in life, I wrote down that I want to live in a place where I can observe the sunrise and sunset every day. Essentially what I was asking for is awe. I didn't realize it at the time but nowadays I try to pause for these exact moments.

Oh, I love sunrises and sunsets. The former is so much harder for me, a non-morning person, to chase, but always so worth it in the end. I would live somewhere where I can have a view of the horizon (which may include sunrise/sunset if we are in the right direction), but the wide perspective gives me the feeling of awe-filled peace. And a bonus is when at night it’s dark enough for stargazing ❤️
