What is Conscious Living about?
For those seeking to live consciously in the expanding digital age — with mindfulness, deliberate intention, and deeper connection.
Through personal essays drawn from my journey in conscious living, cross-cultural identity, and work in tech, I explore the deeper themes of modern life—identity, resilience, culture, and creativity.
Together, we deepen our connections—with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
It is also a community of curious readers who embrace a mindful and intentional life, while inspiring and supporting one another along the way.

Rachel's writing is so beautiful, and though she shares so many big insights on Self – things that pack a punch once I've read them because they make so much sense to me – her posts give me a sense of calm when I read them.

Who am I?
Hi, I’m Rachel Ooi, a Chinese-Malaysian currently living in Germany. I wear many hats—as a mother, a wife, a traveler, and an advocate for conscious living. These roles shape how I approach life, creativity, and my ongoing journey of feeling “at home” while far from my homeland.
Once upon a time, I fell in love with traveling and embarked on a decade of solo backpacking, juggling contract jobs and taking extended breaks. During this period, I discovered conscious living and found my life’s purpose in inspiring it. This was also when I was searching for a place to call “home.”
Then there was a time when I made a pact with myself at 30 to achieve one of three things before turning 40: find the love of my life and start a family, attain financial freedom, or write a book. I then found my “home” in the love of my life, and it turned out to be not where but with whom.
Through this newsletter, I share stories about my journey in conscious living, as well as reflections on motherhood, identity, life abroad, and self-worth. If you choose to join me, I welcome you with an open heart and an invitation to explore conscious living together.
